Huzzah - we charge
Today I have proven that I do in fact know how to change a tyre, though Phil and I had to have a discussion first about where exactly one is supposed to position the jack. From the fact the car did not seem to break I'd say I chose the right location. Also, it's a good thing I'm working from home tomorrow, since that means I can take the car to the tyre place.

Go you! (Although, it is possible that the other possible location was not _wrong_.)

... although sorry it was necessary, glad it was fixed with a minority of fuss...

Grin. Oh well, it worked and I got to feel temporarily smug :-)

On the plus side it was still slightly light (though I valued the torch Phil brought me by the time I was putting the wheel back on) and it happened at the end of the day after I'd collected the kids from nursery (or probably more accurately on the way to do so, but I noticed when I came out with them). Plus it wasn't raining or bitterly cold or any of a number of conditions that would have made it less pleasant.

All those help, as does having a suitable tool for dealing with the wheel nuts. The spanner supplied in my car's kit is about half as long as it needs to be to get sufficient leverage...

Glad you got yourselves moving again. :)
