Birthday goodies!
How cool! Phil bought me a laptop for my birthday and wireless connections for the house, so I'm lying in bed and posting to LJ - very decadent!

Alex and Amy gave me chocolates from Hotel Chocolat - yum!

Now off to get the day started :-)

It's fab. And it's fun techie - it has a fingerprint reader to use instead of a password (but a password option too just in case). Cooool!

Good thing you aren't a guitarist, they often find that their fingerprints don't work due to the abrasion and hardening of the skin. But that will stop Phil from pinching it off you *g*...

Actually, I've found no problems using it (at least up to the point at which I gave the machine to Lissa!!), but then a) the fingerprint area is nowhere near the calluses and b) the fingerprint reader is on the right hand side of the keyboard and so one tends instinctively to use the fingers of the right hand which don't have calluses anyway.

Now bricklayers, they're supposed to not have fingerprints...

*So* cool! Tim was idly scanning concert listings trying to figure out what to plan for my BD last night. I told him not to bother with the Jethro Tull tickets, but why didn't he ever buy me something from my favourite shop, PC World?

He was very surprised for a moment and finally realised that however he likes to imagine it, I am in fact, a much bigger geek than he is :-)

Well, I'm currently piggybacking off someone's open wireless network, which is a bit on-again/off-again sometimes. So it might not be available a) in the bedroom or b) at night... But it would be nice, yes!
